WT intro and light sparring vs. MMA
One of the most frequent questions on WT (aka. wing tsun/wing tjun/wing chun) is how a “soft” style can work in practice. These videos are an example of a typical encounter: in 2009 a local MMA fighter saw us training and challenged us to a sparring session, believing what he had seen would not be practically effective. Whilst the demonstration is old and has many flaws (e.g. footwork etc), plus this is only light sparring and all striking is controlled, the explanations/interactions hopefully give some idea of how WT can work in practice.
